191: THE FINAL DAYS OF AMERICA’S GREATEST HERO ON ‘HAIL TO THE CHIEF’

A wise old Scarecrow once said: “With the thoughts that you’ll be thinkin’, you could be another Lincoln, if you only had a brain.” The fact is: There has never been another Abraham Lincoln; at least in Washington D.C. Some have tried; all have failed; or their attempt came up short. On the morning of April 15, 1865, the greatest American to ever live took his last breath; cut down at the age of 56 by an assassin’s bullet.

The second part of the Abraham Lincoln episodes on our show ‘Hail to the Chief’ was released on May 2, 2022, and it’s one you won’t want to miss. My photographer and I show images and tell stories about the last day in the life of our 16th President. We also take you on his final journey back to Springfield where Lincoln is entombed today.

To watch that episode, please click on the link below. Once you are on the site, you will be able to access the other shows we’ve taped in the past at GBS Media as well. Because we had so much material pertaining to Abraham Lincoln, we wanted to break the show into three parts. The third and final part of Lincoln, which should be published in about ten days, will feature his assassin – the actor-turned-scoundrel John Wilkes Booth. My photographer and I hope you enjoy ‘Hail to the Chief’, and we sincerely appreciate you watching each episode. Please do us a favor and hit the “Like” button on that site and share the link with your friends on social media. One final thought that I’m a thinkin’: “Even though I have a resin brain, I’ll never be another Lincoln!”

Thomas Watson

My name is Thomas Watson and I've been a U.S. history fanatic since I was 9 years old. In 2013, I decided to take my passion to the next level when I purchased a Thomas Jefferson bobble head with the sole intention of photographing that bobble head at Presidential sites. From that first day on July 10, 2013 at Spiegel Grove in Fremont, Ohio, this journey has taken on a life of its own. Now, nearly 40,000 miles later, I thought it was time to share the experiences, stories, and photos of Jefferson's travels. Keep in mind, this entire venture has been done with the deepest respect for the men who held the office as our President; no matter what their political affiliations, personal ambitions, or public scandals may have been. This blog is intended to be a true tribute to the Presidents of the United States and this story will be told Through the Eyes of Jefferson. I hope you enjoy the ride!
