357: MY PHOTOGRAPHER AND BOB MOLDENHAUER FEATURED IN NEW YOUTUBE SERIES ‘THE SPIRITS OF INDEPENDENCE’

In 1991, which was twenty-two years before I was a gleam in my photographer’s eyes, Bob Moldenhauer and Thomas Watson embarked on a well-designed and passionate quest to visit the homes and gravesites of all 56 Signers of the Declaration of Independence – and to do it all on one continuous trip. While some of the 17-day adventure went precisely according to their plans, there were other aspects when it became obvious Tom and Bob were helped by the Spirits of Independence themselves.

In this series of YouTube shows, you’ll be taken back to a time when technology was not as good as it is today – but through Tom and Bob’s 35mm photographs and primitive videos taken during each aspect of the trip, they’ll lead you on a journey through history that you won’t soon forget. You’ll not only see each Signer’s gravesite and most of their homes, but you’ll meet some interesting people they crossed paths with on the trip and you’ll also visit some additional historical sites, including a ride to the top of the World Trade Center in New York City.

Please click on the link below, sit back, and enjoy Tom and Bob’s salute to the brave patriots who gave their lives, fortunes, and pledged their sacred honor to bring independence to our nation. There’s no better way to celebrate America 250 – the 250th anniversary of American Independence – than to salute the men behind the quill pens and faded signatures. Thank you for reading this blog post and please enjoy the show – and don’t forget to leave us a comment and subscribe to Tom’s YouTube channel so you don’t miss any of the upcoming episodes.

Thomas Watson

My name is Thomas Watson and I've been a U.S. history fanatic since I was 9 years old. In 2013, I decided to take my passion to the next level when I purchased a Thomas Jefferson bobble head with the sole intention of photographing that bobble head at Presidential sites. From that first day on July 10, 2013 at Spiegel Grove in Fremont, Ohio, this journey has taken on a life of its own. Now, nearly 40,000 miles later, I thought it was time to share the experiences, stories, and photos of Jefferson's travels. Keep in mind, this entire venture has been done with the deepest respect for the men who held the office as our President; no matter what their political affiliations, personal ambitions, or public scandals may have been. This blog is intended to be a true tribute to the Presidents of the United States and this story will be told Through the Eyes of Jefferson. I hope you enjoy the ride!
