225: ON ‘HAIL TO THE CHIEF’, I JUST WANT TO BE YOUR TEDDY R.

My bobble head buddy Theodore Roosevelt and I took time to pose alongside my photographer’s Frisco Rough Riders hat. When you watch the Roosevelt episode on our show ‘Hail to the Chief’, you’ll notice Tom wore that very hat.

“I don’t wanna be a tiger, ’cause tigers play too rough. I don’t wanna be a lion, ’cause lions ain’t the kind you love enough. I just wanna be, your Teddy R. Put a chain around my neck and lead me near and far. Oh, let me be, your Teddy R.”

On December 8, 2022, the latest installment of our show ‘Hail to the Chief’ was published by Blue Water Healthy Living. During that episode, my photographer showed images and discussed the life and times of our ‘Rock Star’ President Theodore Roosevelt. Since George Washington took the Presidential Oath of Office on April 30, 1789, no person since that moment has been better suited for the role of President than Theodore Roosevelt. He was a larger-than-life Superhero who fought for the underdog; fought for justice; and fought to keep America beautiful.

That was a gift from Scott Burchett, the General Manager of the Rough Riders – which is a Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers. On October 19, 2021, Scott led Tom and I, along with Bill Johnson, on a tour of Riders Field before presenting my photographer with the hat.

Speaking of my buddy Bill Johnson, from Plano, Texas – Bill turns 60 years old on January 7, 2023. HAPPY 60th BIRTHDAY BILL!

In this image, taken on October 19, 2021 at Riders Field in Frisco, Texas, Bill Johnson (right) tried explaining to Scott Burchett was it was like to be on the doorstep of 60 years of age.

Thomas Watson

My name is Thomas Watson and I've been a U.S. history fanatic since I was 9 years old. In 2013, I decided to take my passion to the next level when I purchased a Thomas Jefferson bobble head with the sole intention of photographing that bobble head at Presidential sites. From that first day on July 10, 2013 at Spiegel Grove in Fremont, Ohio, this journey has taken on a life of its own. Now, nearly 40,000 miles later, I thought it was time to share the experiences, stories, and photos of Jefferson's travels. Keep in mind, this entire venture has been done with the deepest respect for the men who held the office as our President; no matter what their political affiliations, personal ambitions, or public scandals may have been. This blog is intended to be a true tribute to the Presidents of the United States and this story will be told Through the Eyes of Jefferson. I hope you enjoy the ride!
