THROUGH THE EYES OF JEFFERSON – Created by Thomas Watson

While I was forced by the damned Secret Service to remain out of the picture, my photographer posed with Bill and Hillary Clinton at the Fox Theater in Detroit, Michigan on April 12, 2019. Tom shared with the President how they share the same birthday, August 19th, but are exactly ten years apart. After the two men shook hands, my camera guy and the First Lady discussed the joys of being a grandparent.

My name is Thomas Jefferson; my friends call me Tom or TJ; and I represent the third President of the United States.  From the bottom of my shoes to the top of my head, I am 7 ½” tall and I stand on a ½” black base that has my name emblazoned across the front.  When anyone touches me, I usually nod in agreement – mainly because my head is attached to my body with a long, metal spring.

Except for being a lot shorter, I look exactly like Jefferson did in 1792; which was nine years before he became the nation’s third president and 16 years after he drafted and signed the Declaration of Independence.  Unlike the original Sage of Monticello, I am made of high-quality resin and am hand-painted by skilled artists who didn’t spare a single detail.

That’s right, you guessed it, I’m a bobble head.  Not just any bobble head, mind you, I’m a Royal Bobble; one that was created with the greatest attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.  My original design and sculpture was fashioned at the parent company located in Alpharetta, Georgia in July/August 2009; but I was born in China (likely in late 2009) and shipped back to the United States in a very comfortable, Styrofoam-lined decorative box that was filled with information about Jefferson and his life.

As a bobble head, I am proud to represent one of the greatest men in American history; but I wanted to do more than simply sit on a shelf and wiggle my head.  Within the posts of this blog, please join me and my personal photographer on this journey around the country as I walk in the footsteps of those who served our nation as its Commander-In-Chief.  Everywhere I visited; everything I touched, stood on, or was photographed near; was done with the greatest respect for those great men – no matter what their political affiliations, personal ambitions, or public scandals may have been.

Now sit back for a historical excursion as well as my personal tribute to the Presidents of the United States – a homage like nothing you’ve ever experienced before. I proudly present to you: Through the Eyes of Jefferson!
